A relaxation massage loosens your muscles and calms your nervous system, reducing stress hormones and providing for a greater sense of well-being.
Based on your intake assessment, I will develop a relaxation massage treatment plan that may include a combination of:
Swedish Massage: Often referred to as relaxation massage, this is the therapy most people think of for “massage.” It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.
Aromatherapy Massage: This is a Swedish massage using oil or lotion that contains essential oils. Inhaling and absorbing essential oils through your skin will help you relax your lymbic system, the part of the brain that influences your nervous system. Through this mind-body connection, painful tension will be released from your muscles while mentally you will feel more calm and refreshed.
